My interest in natural Therapies began in my late teens when my tonsils grew back and were causing me grief. At age 13 my grandmother died. I remember questioning why she was so sick and why couldn’t anybody help her. I felt helpless and I didn’t want to loose any other family member like that again. So for years I questioned conventional treatment that my family and I received for various conditions. Why do we keep getting sick ? Why isn’t the treatment fixing us ? Is there something so wrong with us? Why aren’t we working properly ? Is it genetics? Why is my Grandfather; who works hard , eats fresh home grown food and had never even been born in a hospital so well and healthy ?I thought about his vigor and crystal clear blue eyes. A picture of robust good health. So it came to pass that after my tonsils rebirth I took responsibility for my own health .I searched the local library for the means to help myself .I found The Herb Book by John Lust and was total floored by the rich historical use of herbs and all the illnesses that they could heal. I had found my calling,I was going to be a herbalist.
